the celeb
Realtor took a call from the Ohio Film Bureau.
"We are encouraging Ohio as a setting for film makers and plan to offer every convenience to those who accept Ohio's invitation to film here," the caller explained.
"Your assignment is to find housing for any who require it. Hotels become tiresome," Realtor is told.
After a string of documentaries and minor celebrities are served, a bigger assignment is given out. Find suitable housing for Robert Redford for an upcoming major film.It must be secluded, and you must say nothing to the press about his location.
Realtor persuades a friend to allow his very off the road bachelor house facing a private lake to be used. Redford moves in and Realtor is told, his only disturbance is that the home owner keeps dropping by to see if the celebrity needs anything. There are horses to ride, the owner's Porsche to drive, maid service to look after, and meals delivered all arranged by the Realtor and staff.
The press is told nothing. The arrangements are handled through emissaries and the Realtor doesn't get the pleasure of meeting the star despite considering his every comfort.
During the stay, a phone call from the film bureau describes both a problem and an opportunity.
"Help, Mr. Redford can't get out of the shower" is the message. The bachelor's house features a room size steam shower with a phone and the door has inadvertently locked leaving the celeb to wonder when he will be rescued.
The Realtor is delighted to leave right away to solve the problem and phones an emergency locksmith to meet at the property.
Shucks, housekeeping arrives and figures out that that shutting off the steam mechanism unlocks the door before my arrival.
I don't think I will have such a heroic opportunity again.
